A Weekend Road Trip from Los Angeles to Page

Arizona California United States

I live in Los Angeles, California and love to do weekend road trips. I recently did a road trip to Page, Arizona and loved it! The drive from LA to Page is about 8-9 hours nonstop, although what is a road trip without any detours?

Our first stop was in Las Vegas to see the Seven Magic Mountains, which is a public exhibition of colorful totems about 30-35 feet high. We were lucky to get there around sunset and enjoy the beautiful lighting. The Seven Magic Mountains will only be there for 2 years up until May 2018, so make sure to stop by if you’re in the area. We grabbed a quick dinner, walked on the Vegas strip, and then got on the road again.

The next morning, we went to Lake Powell and rented out paddle boards and kayaks. Lake Powell is a reservoir on the Colorado River and is 186 miles long. My favorite part about the lake is that it’s surrounded by beautiful canyons and it feels like you have the whole place to yourself.

Afterwards, I went to lower Antelope Canyon. The canyon formed over thousands of years by water and wind that sculpted the shapes that we see today. The canyon looks different during different times of the day as the natural sunlight hits different parts of the canyon. Lower Antelope Canyon is underground and it was an amazing experience!

I woke up early the next morning to watch the sunrise over Horseshoe Bend. It was a perfect view to end the trip!
