Canada Quebec

I first visited Quebec when I was 17 years old. I visited with my family and I remember thinking about Quebec long after my trip had concluded. When I had the opportunity to go back to Quebec, this time with my husband, I couldn’t believe it. It still remains as one of my favorite places in the world! When I found out my husband and I were going to stay at Hôtel Château Laurier Québec during out time in the city, I was even more excited!

Hôtel Château Laurier Québec is a beautiful and quite large hotel. The grounds are immense and we spent a whole afternoon wandering around the hotel, discovering all of the features. There is a parking lot on site and it is $20 per night. Your car will be secure, which was important for us, as we had a rental car. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk attendant was very polite and friendly. After check-in, we sprinted for the elevator in excitement. I couldn’t wait to see our room! When I opened the door to the room, I am pretty sure my husband and I both gasped. I have never stayed in such a spacious room before. Not only was the bed huge but the room featured a living room space and a hot tub! The room also came with complimentary water, bathroom essentials and candles for a soothing setting near the hot tub.

After standing in awe of the sheer size of the room, we grabbed our room key and headed out to explore the expansive hotel. The hotel features a gym, indoor saltwater pool and jacuzzi’s, onsite restaurant St. Huberts and a lovely four season garden. I have to say though, the coolest part of this hotel was the automatic wine machine. No attendant or bartender necessary; you just put in your money, pick your wine, grab a glass and it starts to pour. Call me naive but I had never seen anything like this before! There were a lot of wine selections, too. Upon walking around the hotel, you will find the countless awards Hôtel Château Laurier Québec has won. I felt very privileged to stay there, even if only for 2 nights.

So many awards!

The absolute best part of the hotel? The location! I couldn’t wait to show my husband the Old City of Quebec and Hôtel Château Laurier Québec is located right outside. We walked out of the hotel and straight down a small hill to the fortified walls. It doesn’t get better than that! One night, we got caught in a rain storm after dinner and I was VERY pleased our hotel was only a short 10-15 minute walk away. It also made dining very easy, as there is a restaurant on site but also there are plenty of dining options in the Old City.

I was so happy to experience Quebec during the Autumn season. As a California girl, I had never seen red and orange leaves before! Quebec is the perfect city to see beautiful nature and building, eat delicious crepes and meet the friendliest people (and dogs!). I will visit Quebec again, maybe one day with my future children, and I know exactly where to stay. The service at Hôtel Château Laurier Québec was superb and the hotel room was nothing short of amazing. We spend every evening on the comfy couches in the room, relaxing and watching television. My husband couldn’t stop remarking on how comfortable he felt! My husband and I will never forget staying at Hôtel Château Laurier Québec and I am so grateful for our new memories!
