My Experience Climbing Pirin Mountain

Bulgaria Europe

One December day, my friends and I decided to make a hike to the Pirin mountain peak Polezhan, which is 2851 meters. I’m in love with the mountains and it’s endless views! I go to the mountains every free weekend regardless of the season, but winter is my favorite season. In the mountains, I feel free and like I am soaring in the clouds! This mountain is located in Bulgaria, which has lots of amazing scenery!

We left at sunrise from my hometown of Pazardzhik and traveled to Dobrinishte and from there, to Gotse Delchev hut. After reaching Gotse Delchev hut, we went to buy tickets for the chairlift. It was built in the late 80’s. The lift is the longest in Bulgaria; 3,500 meters. He took us to Bezbog. The trip is about 35-40 minutes, depending on atmospheric conditions. When you get off the lift, immediately visible is Bezbog and Bezbojkoto lake.

Bezbog offers many amenities to the tourists who have decided to stay. Inside, you will be able to eat or warm up with a hot drink. Polezhan is the fourth highest in Pirin, but is the highest granite mountain peak.

With smiles on our faces, we hiked for 2 1/2 hours. We were оn top! We shot lots of photographs for our memories and we headed back down to Bezbog. The pictures speak for themselves. Please take a look at how beautiful the winter scenery was. My breath was stopped by the unearthly beauty of this mountain. Welcome to Bulgaria, which is a small country. It is filled with gorgeous scenery and very cheerful and nice people!
