Heaven on earth is what I call Oia, in Santorini. I loved Oia so much that I named my bunny after this amazing town . I yearn to come back over and over again. Words truly can’t describe the magical feeling you get when in Oia.

I planned this trip about a year in advance, as I do most of my trips . I carefully took my time choosing the place I wanted to stay at . Not only do I look at whether it’s a 4-5 star resort but also how amazing the customer service is . I stayed 3 nights in Oia and 2 nights in Fira . Fira was nice but Oia was definitely my favorite.

I came across Ambition Suites in Oia . Let me tell you, the Manager Yavette was amazing. She literally made all my arrangements from booking my tours to booking my reservations for restaurants and to even booking my own personal tour  guides! Ambition Suites in Oia is literally the best place  I have stayed at, from views to customer service to food. This hotel only has four rooms so the manager is able to give you five star treatment! Each room has a private balcony,  private hot tub overlooking the caldera,   Aegean sea and the beautiful island. Every night, you get to choose a breakfast fit for a king and the sweet house keeper serves you the breakfast. You can choose to eat on your own  balcony or in your room. I chose to eat on the balcony, how can I not with that view? I literally felt like I was in heaven; so carefree and happy.

After breakfast each morning, I explored the island and ate at amazing restaurants that the manager recommended and booked for me. I got to watch the amazing famous sunset from dinner one day. In Oia , I also took a  sunset yacht tour. It was so peaceful and fun. They also have bbq so you can eat on deck. I also went to Ammoudi Bay to have lunch at Ammoudi Fish Travern. This place is unreal, it’s like artwork!  You can choose to go here by donkeys , walking or taxi.

After Oia, I stayed at Fira at Astro Suites. It was nice but not as amazing as Ambition Suites. I had my own private pool and hot tub on my balcony. I got to explore Fira square and eat amazing ice cream and famous Greek gyros! The amazing manager at Ambition Suites booked a private tour for me in Fira to explore  it and it’s surroundings. I got to go to the highest point of the island; the view on top was stunning. I also got to experience a black sand beach for my first time!

I came to Greece alone in May 2016! This was my first time traveling alone to a foreign country. It was the best and most liberating trip of my life. I plan to continue to travel alone unless I meet someone with similar interests. I encourage everyone to travel alone at least one time. You will learn so much more about yourself and genuinely enjoy it! Take a tripod to take pictures of yourself and if your comfortable, ask others to take pictures of you. I felt very safe in Oia, especially during the day time.
