The Perfect Cabin in the Woods in Lake Arrowhead

California United States

Living in Los Angeles, you sometimes feel like it’s hard to escape the city. I had never traveled to Lake Arrowhead before and it seemed like a good road trip to take from Los Angeles. My search for accommodations didn’t last long, as I immediately found Lake Arrowhead Getaways on Instagram: //www.lakearrowheadgetaways.com/

The cabin seemed to be perfectly located near the national park and Lake Arrowhead Village. My husband and I love to hike in the mountains so this seemed like the getaway for us. We headed out on a Friday morning and were delighted that the drive was only 1 1/2 hours. I am not joking when I say that my husband and I gasped when we finally pulled up to the cabin. The A-frame house is framed by gorgeous trees and firewood. We were so anxious to see the inside of the house that we ran up to the front door without any of our weekend bags. Once inside, you are greeted with stunning floor to ceiling windows in the living room. We explored the entire house, running around like kids on Christmas day! The house is 3 STORIES! It has a loft bedroom on the top floor, bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen on the 2nd floor and more beds on the third floor.

I loved that the cabin had a fully equipped kitchen. We went to the local grocery store and made so many delicious things in that kitchen. We baked a cookies and creme cake and made chicken nachos! The kitchen has pots and pans, plates and cups, utensils, a coffee maker, big fridge and freezer and LOTS of spices. My husbands favorite part? The oven that tells you when its pre-heated (we live in an apartment with a very old oven)! After dinner, we sat outside on the front deck by the fire pit and looked up at the stars. I rarely see any stars in Los Angeles so it was a treat. The house also features a hot tub on the back deck (although we ran out of time to use it).

I loved the nook!

We had such an amazing time during our stay! I would highly recommend booking this cabin for any of your Lake Arrowhead trips. The house sleeps at least 6-8 people, so it would be perfect for a family trip too! The house is located near other homes so this is NOT a party house. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The cabin comes with lake access passes, which you need to hike around Lake Arrowhead. After taking a ride on Arrowhead Queen, we used our passes to walk around the lake. It was such a beautiful walk, as Lake Arrowhead is pristine. I recommend exploring the area around the house too! In the guest info book at the house, Matt (the owner) recommended a short hike from the house. We did it and explored a currently deserted campground! The best part? WE FOUND A PATCH OF SNOW! This is a huge deal for a city girl like me! After our 2 night stay, we headed back to Los Angeles feeling rejuvenated and well rested!
