Temple Hopping Around Angkor Archeological Park

Asia Cambodia

There are so many temples to visit in Angkor Wat. We were only visiting the park for 3 days and we didn’t want to cram in too many temples. I really wanted to have time to enjoy each temple we visited.

Bayon Temple should not be missed. There are lots of faces carved into the stone. Some of the faces are calm and some of them are smiling. This is a very popular temple so be ready for crowds. There is very little shade here except for when you go inside the temple. It seemed to be most people’s next stop after Angkor Wat temple.

We wanted to look “cool” even though it was 102 degrees

Ta Prohm looks like it hasn’t been touched in ages. This temple is most famous for being featured in Tomb Raider starring Angelina Jolie. The temple has been overtaken by mystical overgrown trees. The temple feels eerie and I even got goosebumps while walking around. Don’t worry, it’s not scary at all but you will feel a certain type of energy there.
