Only 2 hours away from Medellin by bus, there is a colorful and magical little town called Guatape. This city is technically new. 4 years ago, their government decided to invest in paint and make the town colorful. It has greatly improved their tourism!

Before the government decided to brighten up the town, Guatape was already a bit famous for Peñon Rock. It is located a few minutes away from the city by taxi car. You climb 750 stairs but, you get to see a very amazing view. You can do a day trip from Medellin but I would recommend staying at least two days to enjoy the festive ambience at nighttime.
