Centre Parcs Getaway

England Europe

From my last visit to Centre Parcs, I knew I had to go back. Centre Parcs has 5 different destinations that I want to visit. The first one I gleefully visited last year was Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, and the one I eagerly visited this year was Whinfell Forest in Cumbria. It’s well known for its dazzling landscape on the edge of the Lake District.

According to their Wikipedia page, Centre Parcs UK is “a short-break holiday company which operates five holiday villages in the United Kingdom, with each covering about 400 acres of woodland.”

I have to warn you though; the lines to get inside are never-ending but trust me when I say it’s worth it. However, I did visit in June; and June, July and August are the busiest months for vacations as it’s during summer holiday.

Their accommodations are divine. From a tree house to woodland to your own spa suite, the choice is yours. Because it’s in a forest, the environment is very peaceful. You can even hear the birds tweet. Living in the UK doesn’t give me many sunny days so to have Centre Parcs located in UK is amazing, especially for a getaway.

They have a Subtropical Swimming Paradise in a dome. There’s a specific slide that I absolutely adored which was outside so as you slide down, you get to see an amazing view. The dip in the end really gets your stomach too so for adrenaline junkies, it’s not lousy.

There was a variety of activities you could choose to do, such as paddle boarding, aqua jetting, sailing, windsurfing and a quad bike safari. I had chosen paddle boarding, aqua jetting, segway and the high ropes challenge. Let me just tell you, it was not a disappointment. The instructors were so lovely and they made me feel so welcome, so if you decide to go you don’t need to worry about their service.
