Our Scotland Adventure

Europe Scotland

We went on a road trip trough Scotland in Fall 2016. After landing in Glasgow, we rented a car and took off in direction towards Glen Coe National park. In Glen Coe National park, we found an amazing variety of hiking tracks. The place is quite famous because of Harry Potter Scenes that were filmed there. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot some deers, as we did.

After that we drove to the Isle of Skye. On our way, we stopped by the Glenfinnen Viaduct, which was absolutely worth the visit. To reach the Isle of Skye, you can either use the bridge, as we did, or book a ferry in advance.

The Isle of Skye is just a magical place. There are so many different locations to explore. Our favorites were:

  • Portree
  • Fairy Pools / Fairy Glen
  • Old man of storr
  • Kilt rock
  • Quiraing

Our absolute highlight was the Neist Point. The huge cliffs, which reach out into the sea, took our breath away. A beautiful lighthouse is built on the edge of the cliffs.

After a great time on the Isle of Skye, we made our way back to the main land and came across some locals.

Highland Cow

Next was Edinburgh, our last stop! On our way to Edinburgh, we visited the Elian Donan Castle. The historical place which still belongs to a family was full of tourists but still beautiful. We reached our last stop of Edinburgh. We fell in love with this place. The old town is a must see. Tiny shops and cute bars are all over the place. The castle is built on an inactive volcano. We hope you will travel to Scotland and enjoy your journey!
