I was spending most of my summers in cold Poland. After 24 years, along with my sisters and a few of my friends, we decided to change this tradition. We wanted to feel a real summer that we only saw in films or pictures from fellow travellers. We decided to head to Greece! Once we landed on Rhodes Island, we knew that we had made the best decision ever. This trip was the the trip that awoke my adventure and travel side of my soul. I didn’t even know it was in me.

What is amazing about Rhodes Island is that you can go around the whole Island by bus. You can visit all the major stops in 1 day. The bus is great and the views are impossible to describe. Locals are very friendly and they always have incredible stories to tell. They were very helpful in assisting us with directions and choosing places to visit. I was amazed at how kind the locals were. I stayed in a city called Faliraki and this city has it all. There are places to families to hang out and places to party all night if you want too. Not to mention, beautiful Anthony Quinn Bay is amazing. Scuba diving in such places will literally take your breath away.

As much as I love my home country and Poland is beautiful in so many ways, I miss this hot weather and sun on my face ever since my trip to Greece. I have visited many places after since my trip to Rhodes Island. When I visited Australia, I instantly fell in love and I now live in Australia. Rhodes Island will always be my first travel experience. Thanks to this trip, I was able to get out of my comfort zone and explore the world.
